Gatsby Chapter 1

• The story of The Great Gatsby is very interesting. One of the most interesting things about the text is that the narrator of the story, Nick Carraway, is also casting himself as the author. He plays a major role in the story. Basically the whole first chapter in centered by him. In the story's first chapter Gatsby appears towards the end. I view him as sort of weird as of now. He's just standing in the lawn with his hands out towards water. The question i bring up is who exactly is this young man and why is he suddenly out there awkwardly.  This chapter reveals how the difference between the wealthy and the unwealthy was significant. What's also revealed about this time period is that people are drunk and it's somewhat the normal thing to be constantly drinking on some sort of alcohol. In the text there are a lot of sudden things that seem to have no meaning such as the girl that Tom was on the phone with. It seems sort of weird that the author doesn't reveal who exactly it is.

A hero is someone who is courageous, strong, and usually smart. Hero's are one who are there in the time of need. In most cases, hero's are usually positive, but some are terrible.
